I agree in that they used to be time wasters/recreational. But now ESports is a big thing with competitions aired on networks like ESPN. People make good money playing video games. It's very interesting!
I forgot to add, I'm currently into Super Smash Bros Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch. It's so much fun to play and I can't wait to unlock all the characters.
I used to be. Now I mostly stick to DnD. Though I will break out Skyrim or D3 on the PC from time to time.
How is the Nintendo Switch, btw? I wouldn't mind getting back into Smash Bros., or other throw-backs to my youth if they have them.
It's not really a "game" because there's not an objective, but... I spend far too much time in "Second Life." At least I try to be productive by singing there, and actually generating a little bit of income. LOL
The only other game I occasionally play is... yes, go ahead and laugh... Team Fortress 2.
Nothing to be embarrassed about... if you only knew how much time I have spent playing The Sims (original until Sims 4...)

Pong was cool.😎 They are not exactly time wasters though some games are good for your hand eye coordination, others actually keep the brain active. Others at least on the newer platforms are geared towards your physical fitness being the main goal.They are just dressed up.for Halloween so to speak as video games.😄

That's true, but the controls and camera are a lot easier to use now. I enjoy it because if ANY nostalgic game deserves a remaster, it's Spyro 😂.

Yes, Xbox (not so much lately) and Nintendo Switch. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is great!
The Switch has been such a great platform - can play on the TV yet take it as a portable system.
Also just getting into VR, which has amazing potential.

I am the HUGEST Mario nerd. I played super Mario sunshine on the GameCube, super Mario galaxy 1 & 2 on the wii, and then oddessy on the switch!

For sure! One of the best things about Minecraft is that it can be different things to different people. Some people explore, some build structures, some construct amazing contraptions. I enjoy some of these more than others. And sometimes just the zen of mining is nice! :-)

I have been playing video games all my life! I grew up playing playstation and my first video game was Spyro!
They just recently came out with a new Spyro game for the PS4 where they remaster the original first 3 games. I have a PS1,2,3,4 and a PSP. I don't know why but I have always just played playstation and I can't wait to get my hands on the PS5 that is coming out in December 2020!
I also grew up playing the Sims on PC and im currently playing Sims 4. I have like every expansion!
