Facebook can use your phones location to suggest friends, so it might be that. I read about this before... they use a lot of different information. It’s a little creepy.

That's wild! I turnoff my location on my phone and apps like snapchat and instagram but I didn't know FB did this too. That can be so dangerous for us ladies.

It's crazy. Facebook has admitted to unblocking people you have not unblocked and got in huge trouble for it. There is a news article on it somewhere. The internet can be a shady place. Stay safe everyone!

About a week ago I got a friend request from a bartender in Elko on my personal face book .  I sent 2 messages to 2 different people asking how they got my real name.  Never got a reply.

yup! after years of being careful on every social media platform just last week my parents FINALLY figured out I do porn... because somehow I came up as a person you may know but it shouldnt be possible since i blocked her, didn't use my phone number, all this stuff... ughhhh

It maybe totally innocent. Based on pages you like, and people who follow you its possible you simply came up as someone they might know. Its not necessarily anything sinister. You have a lot of friends and followers on Facebook with lpin connetions.

Most likely one of your friends on Facebook is friends with this bartender in Elko. So your profile is simply coming up
ask someone they may know.

Change your settings start with the one on who can friend you.  Change it to friend of a friend. Change all your posts to friends only, and turn on limit who can see old posts.

Like I said someone on your friends list probably is friends with this bartender. Which would bring you up as someone they might know on their time line. Pages you both follow and like will bring up your profile as well.

I get a lot of people that come up as suggestions of people I might know. Some are based on my likes. But also several of the suggestions are on my time line are friends of yours.

BTW  I think you can still change your display name on your Facebook page. Maybe something like Joe Rockhead😉😄 or your name spelled backwards.😎
