it's not like you can practice for camel racing real easily, but who's going to represent the Mustang Ranch at the Virginia City Camel races this year?  inquiring minds want to know, that's coming up in just a few weeks after all

I REALLY hope I get to race again this year! Last year I was the first one up and I was terrified! It was exhilarating and a truly unique experience that I will always treasure. I must redeem my self from my third place standing, I want first!!   :)

camel races at the race track in Virginia City on September 6 this year...

one hump camels are the usual racing type, and the only ones i have seen raced...
two 'humpers' are called dromedaries...don't ask me why i know these things

there are Ostrich races the same weekend, they are even faster

If anyone is gonna be in the area in early October, the Virginia City World Championship Outhouse races are Oct. 4th & 5th. The Mustang Ranch Steakhouse in Virginia City is a co-sponsor of the event. I attended these races a few years back. It was a blast! ;D
