MUSTANG RANCH WINS BROTHEL OF THE YEAR
AWARD FROM CWMC
July 19, 2014
(Reno, Nevada) - The Mustang Ranch brothel outside Reno, Nevada, the world's most famous legal brothel, won the Nevada Brothel of the Year Award from the CWMC Group on Friday, July 18, 2014. CWMC is a Nevada based Internet social group which supports legal prostitution. Carrera, one of the ladies from the Mustang, also won Courtesan of the Year in a clean sweep of the large brothel awards for the Mustang.
The CWMC 18th Annual Awards Banquet was held at Tamarack Junction Casino and Restaurant in Reno.
"All I can say is WOW, what a great honor," said Madam Tara from the Mustang. "I have been transitioning the house from a traditional brothel, which tends to be very routine for customers, to a customer oriented atmosphere with classy, fun courtesans," said Madam Tara. "This tells me we are on a good path with our transition."
"Over the last two years we have really focused on customer service and increasing our internet presence at www.mustangranchbrothel.com," said Don Gilman, who is the son of the owner. "Our award winning steakhouse at the resort also has helped our ability to draw customers," he said. Mr. Gilman continued "And, many of the CWMC members told us how much they now appreciate the fact we have a very nice lodge in the Resort for overnight accommodations."
Mr. Gilman commented on other plans for the Mustang Ranch trademark, "Our Trademark, registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office is gaining economic value through increased logo product sales. In addition, the trademark has been licensed to a separate company to open the Mustang Ranch Steakhouse and Mustang Ranch Hunter's Lounge in Virginia City. We also are refurbishing the Julia Bulette Redlight Museum. This Museum will display information and exhibits providing a history of legal prostitution in the area. We will be opening that new venture soon at our historic Steakhouse location," Mr. Gilman said.

Traditionally, in order to protect the privacy of those who might attend, the location of the banquet is kept secret and disclosed only by the banquet host to only those who have bought tickets. I've known of CWMC (but not able to attend) for about 8 years, and never knew the location of the banquet until I read the press release and the story online in the RGJ.
Beyond that, I have heard many positive things about the pool party and the general atmosphere at the Mustang during CWMC. I also heard that the free accommodations were taken advantage of in good numbers, and were highly appreciated. I've also heard it expressed that it would be great if perhaps the Mustang would extend the offer to other future gatherings of mongers that may occur at future dates!
Also, Congrats to Carrera!
