probably a question for Little Mel,
In June, I'll be staying at one of the downtown Reno casinos and am plotting a visit to the MR. An issue is transportation. While the group I'm traveling with is renting a car, I'm not sure I'll be able to discreetly take the car for a couple hours. I'm not even sure if I'll be a listed driver on that car.
Anyway, what is a normal cab rate from downtown Reno to the MR? Depending on what time I go to the MR, are waiting cabs normally outside the MR for people leaving or does one have to be called? The only time I've been to the MR was early in the morning and there certainly weren't any cabs around then. This would not be a weekend night (it would probably be a Tuesday night or Wednesday night).
Another idea is to rent a car myself just for that day but that might be difficult to maintain discretion as well.
Well, I am not Mel but I suggest you rent a car for the day. I wouldn't even think of getting a cab.
Call tara they may be able to have a driver pick you up
Rent a car. You can pick it up at one of the downtown casinos. I would never take a cab.
I've been once, and will be out once again in a couple of weeks.
Each time, I have/am renting a car.
However, it sounds like you're there with others. I don't know if a rental car can be arranged from the hotel (including receipt/return of the car), esp in a discreet manner...
Where are you staying downtown ? Enterprise Rent-A-Car can be rented at Silver Legacy . It is a short walk from the other casinos in the downtown area.
Cabs equal bad mojo for your party. Find a way to get yourself at least out to the Ranch. For the Record though if you truly have no other option a cab from downtown would be around 100 round trip maybe a little more. Tell them not to wait or it will be even more.
But like others already said Cabs are not a good idea.
There is a car rental place in the air port called Dollar Rent a Car or something like that. DON"T rent a car from them.
They " ADDED $177.00 " to my credit card " AFTER " I got home from out there once and I had hell getting it back.

That's messed up Cobia . I got to keep my eye on them.
I rent at the airport all the time from Dollar / Thrifty never had any trouble. But I do normally prepay with my credit card travel program.

I did too . They still added it after I left.
When you are in town go ahead and give us a call. We will do everything we can to get you out here. 775-343-1224
Be careful renting cars from the airport location. An airport concession fee and airport tax is added to every rental. After everything is said and done you will be spending over $100 easy. The casinos also add a resort tax and fee to every rental.
If you do choose to take a cab(which will be slightly cheaper than a rental, you wont risk getting lost, and you will be able to enjoy a few drinks because you have a DD) give us a call and we will put you in touch with one of our recommended cab drivers. We have a list of drivers that we know will take good care of you.
Uber and Lyft are also a fairly new option. You just have to be careful with them because their prices are not set. They increase during peak hours or days.

I can see how to get to the ranch using Uber/Lyft, but has anyone used them to return back to Reno? Do they have cars nearby the ranch to pick up people?
I have had very good luck with the taxi's (actually had some fun with a couple of the drivers)and there is no worry if you want to do a little socializing afterward.
Talk to Little Mel, Nese, or Tara. They know People. You can call the ranch & ask now. That way you can get some idea what it will be.
Rent a car
Ditch your co workers
Get a room at the ranch
Book some time with Serena
Priceless

I remember when I, uses to think that way to. Sometimes I wish I still did . Cab are fine if you truly have no other option to get out to the ranch. But 99.9 percent of the time cabs to the Ranch equal bad mojo for your party.
Better to walk from downtown Rwno lady be so impressed you wanted her that badly she might cut you a price break. Or at least give a good foot Massage before the long walk back to Reno. ;D ;D
Riding a bus to the Mustang an option.

No you will need to use the app to get another ride back with a different driver. Or do what my buddy did get the persons direct number. If they are still working they will come back. The other problem with Uber is although the price is generally cheaper on the transportation cost. The price fluctuates depending on demand. Your best bet will always be drive yourself. Unless you know a local willing to at least drop you off. Then you just need to find a way back to Reno which is easier once you have already booked and completed your party with the lady of your choice. 8)
Be glad there are no uber drivers already there unless the are booking a dance themselves. If they did the same bad Mojo you get taking a cab over would kick in. ;)
check you private messages! Let's get you in here!
Any worries with Uber or Lyft concerning the concept of carrying quite a bit of cash? Obviously, once you tell them you're going to the MR - they know you likely carrying quite a bit. I've never used either of them.

Valid point, but in theory once they know you are from out of the area they know you are carrying cash regardless of where you are going. I think they have to pass a background check for both companies. But I don't know how extensive it is. But in theory the risk to the passenger is not much more then it would be using a regular cab, but don't quote me on that one. I have a friend that took Uber over to E 28 3 times and had no problems with any of the drivers the tricky part was finding another one in the area willing to take him back.
