Which is more ethical at a fairly exclusive Las Vegas party setting where it appears guests have big money?

1.  Lying to women and acting like you have big money.
2.  Actually spending money at the event like you have it.

Other options:
3.  Ignoring all this "friendly" advice and acting normally.
4.  Play the races that day and forget the event.

Honestly, I doubt I want to try 1 or 2. I actually had women telling me I should try 2. And one of them will be there.

What is the objective? To get laid or meet someone. If it's to get laid use #1. If it's to meet someone then use #3.

Sure, I'd be fine with either meeting someone or getting some.   More realistically, my goal is probably to get thru that event with a limited amount of embarrassments. Considering the people I will be with, that will be a significant accomplishment.  While it's a fun group, they tend to want to "help" the chronically single guy (me) in these settings. There will likely be a lot of drinking that day.

Try to make as many friends as possible and have fun. Just be a gentlemen!! Buy a lady a drink, hold the door for her, make sure you are as generous as possible with the waitstaff, make sure you behave like a gentlemen....

Staying as classy as possible, is the way to go... You don't need to lie about your money, or spend crazy amounts and pretend, but if you are questioning etiquette it's best to read up on bar etiquette, and proper etiquette...

All the ladies will appreciate this, more than a lie or Anything else!!

Don't focus on your vices either, remain healthy and not too intoxicated, remember to enjoy yourself, and don't hit on the ladies too overtly, until you know who's fucking who....

;-) you'll have fun!

Act normal.  If there is going to be a lot of drinking at the event, stay away from the gambling!
